South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI)
Responsible for exploring, revealing, celebrating and championing biodiversity for the benefit and enjoyment of all of South Africa's people. SANBI were involved in the compiling of the very useful and informative book, "The Vegetation of South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland" edited by Michael C. Rutherford from the Kirstenbosch Research Centre,SANBI and Ladislav Mucina from the Department of Botany & Zoology, Stellenbosch University. Thabakholo also uses this book extensively as a guide and reference.

Committee of Land Transport Official (COLTO) Our COLTO specification is based on Section 5800 for Landscaping and Planting Plants from the "Standard Specification for Road and Bridge Works for State Road Authorities", better known as COLTO specification of South Africa .This specification is currently being used by the Department of Transport for erosion control and vegetation establishment on the road network system and deals with the preparation, application, maintenance and payment methods.
